Dutch producer and Beats Broke artist Arts The Beatdoctor is looking for special voices to incorporate in his new release, scheduled for release this year.

After his solo releases Fragments (2006), Transitions (2007) and Progressions (2008), and the group efforts Sound Surroundings and Darker Days with The Q4 in 2010, Arts The Beatdoctor is now working on a new solo record. For this, he is searching for input other than his own, in the form of voice recordings. Anybody willing to record his voice can enter his/her recording. Expect these voices to be filtered, chopped up, reversed, and mangled in other ways.

Since his first releases, his songs have been marked by the unorthodox use of vocals. Whether it is the unusual way of flipping a vocal sample from a dusty record, or the incorporation of vocal talent in a much bigger instrumental arrangement, Arts The Beatdoctor is inspired by the challenge of taking vocals out of their usual context. This project marks the next step in that challenge – working with material beyond his control, and finding its often hidden quality.

I’m extremely proud to announce the debut release by our newest artist signing, Leadsmen.

Leadsmen are a Dutch electronic duo who developed out of YaDamnSkippy! making electro mixes for fun in his spare time. It has since transformed into a super group with unlimited potential. We think they sound like Prodigy meets Amon Tobin.

The EP released today is called “Words Unspoken EP.” It contains the single from their upcoming LP, 2 b-sides, and 3 remixes by Robot Koch, The Octopus Project, and our own Arts The Beatdoctor.

Cymarshall Law & The Beatnikz – “Freedom Express Line” LP

Recipient of The Source Magazine’s ‘Unsigned Hype’ and member of the Rawkus 50, Cymarshall Law joins Beats Broke for the vinyl release of Freedom Express Line.

On the record, Law teamed up with The Beatnikz, a revered Swedish production duo. Together they hand-crafted a reggae-infused, boom-bap sound like no other. As a vinyl-only bonus track, we included Inf’s “Control” remix (feat. KRS-One) to close the album.

The first 500 units were pressed with a custom 2-color splatter, Beer (transparent) and Olive Green (opaque). With added illustration by Nwabe (France), this is the most beautiful record we’ve released. Truly one for the collection.

Skiggy Rapz has been killing SXSW Music Festival in Austin, TX. 10 shows in 10 days…whew!

Check him out w/ DJ DNS (3 time consecutive DMC Champion of Holland) and Maximus Prime (live drums). He’s premiering new tracks no one has heard before. They’re brilliant.

Skiggy Rapz was accepted to perform at the 2011 SXSW Music Festival, which takes place March 16-20 in Austin, TX. To quote Skiggy upon hearing the news, “Ohhh heeeelllll yeeeeeaaaaahhhh!!!!”

Beats Broke is pleased to announce our latest signing: Cymarshall Law & The Beatnikz

With accolades such as winning an emcee competition judged by the Black Eyed Peas, being named to the Rawkus 50, or receiving the hip-hop stamp of approval from the legendary Blastmaster himself, KRS-One (as featured on Cy’s first single Control), Cymarshall Law has made a mark for himself in the hip-hop community. Due to his relentless work ethic, he has shared the stage with artists like KRS-One, Smif-N-Wesson, Bootcamp Click, Sean Price, Mos Def, Talib Kweli, Wordsworth, The Last Emperor, Jean Grae, and Immortal Technique.

Our camp first met UK-born, Jersey-resident Cymar when his group Everliven Sound played Habek’s Roffest in July. They hit it off, and recorded an album while there in Utrecht, NL over the course of a week. While Inf is still putting the finishing touches on it (he made 9 of the beats), Cymar asked if we would release the vinyl version of the Freedom Express Line album he made with the Beatnikz. We enthusiastically agreed, and the rest is history on wax.

But wait…there’s more! As an added bonus, to put our spin on it (pun intended), the vinyl version will include an Inf remix of Cymarhsall Law’s “Control” (feat. KRS-One).The vinyl won’t be out until early 2011, but to tide you over, the Inf remix will be available as a digital single (with instrumental) on Tuesday, December 14th, 2010 via your favorite digital retailer.

We’re excited to bring Cymar into the family. He brings a new level of passion, focus, and hunger that is equally refreshing and inspiring. And, he does it all without having to say, “I’m on my grind, son.”
